Demonetization of 25 paise coin!!

Being from a small little town where money had some value in the past, I couldn't control the flow of my memories of what 25 paise could buy in the past. Central government had demonetized 25 paise coin in May 2011. Well, with inflation at 10+% the future of 50 paisa is uncertain too.

A list of things that I could buy with 25 paisa when I was kid.

A single piece of idli from idli Pullayya in Palakollu. He used to sell minimum 4 idlies though :)p

5 peices or multi coloured candies from some old lady on my way to tuition from Viajay Master. ( In my town we call Sirs as Master :D probably derived from telugu version Mastaru !! )

One half of sweet lemon ( naranja kaya ) with salt and mirchi powder from ayaa's shop in St Mary's High School Bhimavaram.

Samosa on the train from palakollu to vijayawada. But that chap would sell 2 minimum.

5 peices of gold fingers from Satyanarayana kirana shop.

Bribe my brother when I do something stupid.

A Guava or Jama kaaya or Jama Pandu.

One peice of munju kaya ( Palm fruit with transparent juicy substance inside ).

Mango Peices with some salt and mirchi in my grand father's street.

A post card with tiger symbol in green color.

Money loses value too fast, beyond imagination in a place like India with no proper ways of controlling inflation. I miss you 25 paise coin. I love you too :)

post card was 15p. anyway, you can still get all this stuff for 25p if you melt your coins but the stupid govt would call that illegal :)

@Rahul
Yeah! The post card was 15 paise for quite some time when i was a kid. It was 25 paise when i was in high school or 5th std.

25 paise used to have some value and it is lost.
